That's right, I am not even all the way through the first day of the week and there is already something too exciting not to share!! I have just dropped off some exciting new pieces at the lovely Upstairs Gallery in the beautiful town of Berkhamsted ready to be shown at the Colours of Summer Exhibition from Wednesday 16th May until Thursday 7th June (full details here!)
What's most exciting (to me anyway), is that this will be my first return to a gallery exhibition since 2010 (exciting enough in itself), but in between I have been developing my skills and portfolio as an illustrator and pattern designer... So, there will four new works on display at this exhibition and I am really proud of the illustrative style that has carried over from my pattern design and traditional illustration work. In the two pieces above (Swept in to summer- looking forward and Swept in to summer - looking at you) the illustrative style using the medium of textiles gives a contemporary edge to this traditional (and much loved) art form.
There will also be two pieces available to buy from the browser at the gallery and I am pleased as punch with these two positive pieces, painted using Indian inks on card stock! Perfect positive additions to the Swept in to Summer series of Textiles art. And if that wasn't enough, they will also be selling a selection of my greetings cards too! So why not head to the lovely Berkhamsted from Wednesday 16th May - Thursday 7th June and check it out for yourself!
